A few notes about my cakes:
The cakes are 100% homemade, which means they are made entirely from scratch. You will not find any boxed cake mixes in this lady’s pantry!
Most are homemade. Depending on the cake, I occasionally use jams or jellies in the filling.
Except for the ganache cakes, I use a traditional Swiss Meringue Buttercream as a base. I like to accent the cakes with fondant, but the fondant always has either the ganache or buttercream as a base. I can make cakes that are entirely covered in fondant, but most requests, thus far, have been for buttercream. The buttercream is made from cooked egg whites, sugar, butter, and vanilla. These simple ingredients whip up to make a heavenly, smooth, light, and delightful frosting.
